Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro doesn't see the Bundesliga table topper against second-placed Bayern Munich as an early decision to the title race.

"The game can be an indicator for the rest of the season, but I don't see any ultimate significance in it. It doesn't matter what happens, we will continue our path. We want to take the maximum out of every tournament," he told news portal ran.

Unbeaten Leverkusen top the standings two points ahead of Bayern. A win would give the league leaders a five point advantage over the Bavarians. Defeat, however, would see Leverkusen drop to second.

Carro praised coach Xabi Alonso, saying he has played a huge role in the team's development.

"His contribution is huge. He's an outstanding coach and leader who fits perfectly into our organization," Carro said, and stressed he's not worried about the speculation surrounding Alonso's future.

The coach has repeatedly been linked to a job at former clubs Real Madrid and Liverpool.

"Xabi is fully committed to his job. Everyone here can feel that," Carro said.
