Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Jonas Hofmann has admitted that the current successful run of the Bundesliga leaders is almost a bit scary.

"The success is carrying us at the moment, but the dimension of it is extraordinary," Hofmann said in an interview with the Rheinische Post newspaper.

He is certain, however, that Leverkusen can continue on this successful path.

"We have an incredibly positive energy and always have the right focus. The team has everything it needs," he said.

Leverkusen are unbeaten in 18 Bundesliga games, a run that includes 15 wins.

Hofmann surprisingly moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Leverkusen last summer and Gladbach were initially upset about the transfer.

The player will meet his former club on Saturday, but their relationship seems to be on friendly terms.

"I met (former Gladbach team-mates) Christoph kramer and Florian Neuhaus at the beginning of the week, but Saturday's game was not in discussion yet," Hofmann said.

He added that he's still in contact with other Gladbach players and "if time permits, I watch the games, of course."
