New-to-Lexington Asian bowl restaurant coming to UK campus corridor on Limestone
A new healthy Asian restaurant is coming to the University of Kentucky campus area.
Okome Asian Grill will be opening at 341 S. Limestone in October, according to restaurant owner Christine Xiao.
It will be in the former leasing office for The Hub, which is next to Chipotle.
“We are excited to introduce Okome, our first location in Lexington,” Xiao said via text. “Unlike a chain, Okome is a unique venture. Our family has successfully operated similar restaurants in the West Virginia and Ohio areas. We are thrilled to bring our expertise to the UK campus in Lexington.”
The menu features options to build your own bowl with different types of rice, noodles or lettuce, with choice of proteins, vegetables, toppings and sauces. Sauce options include Garlic Yum, Ginger Yum, Sriracha Yum, Teriyaki, Spicy Sesame and Spicy Teriyaki.
You can also get chef-curated bowls with favorite items including vegan.
“At Okome, we strive for the perfect balance between healthy and delicious. Our menu is 100% gluten-free, catering to those with dietary restrictions. In a time when many fast food options lack nutrition, our restaurant is committed to providing wholesome meals,”
