3-vehicle crash causes injuries on Lexington’s North Broadway
A crash on North Broadway caused injuries and forced a section of North Broadway to shut down during Thursday’s morning commute, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.
The accident happened at approximately 6:55 a.m. on North Broadway between Dover Road and Cane Run Road, according to the traffic management center. At 7 a.m. all inbound lanes of North Broadway were blocked off while police cleared the scene.
At 7:20 a.m. the traffic management center said the left lane had reopened and the right lane remained blocked for vehicle removal. At 9:24 the traffic management center said the road has completely reopened.
Lt. Dan Truex with the Lexington Police Department said the collision involved three vehicles. One vehicle rear-ended another, which pushed the vehicle into a third.
The driver of the vehicle that started the accident was transported to the hospital. Truex said the driver’s injuries were originally classified as critical but were later downgraded to non-life-threatening once they arrived at the hospital
The passenger of the vehicle that was rear ended was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries, according to Truex.
