Police: Body found on side of Lexington road was a homicide victim. Name released.

A 22-year-old was shot and left on the side of a Fayette County road Monday morning, Lexington police said.

When police responded to Delong Road, between Amstrong Mill and Colliver Lane, around 6:46 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive male on the side of the road, they found a body, Lt. Ronald Keaton said.

Police later said the victim had been shot and classified the case as a homicide. The coroner’s office identified the victim as Jamar Patterson Jr.

The body was found 25 to 30 feet off the road in a gravel driveway. Keaton said it was possible someone left the body there after an incident occurred elsewhere.
