LGBTQ activists gathered to counter a protest against transgender access to the spa's facilities in L.A.'s Koreatown neighborhood.

The video shows the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) pointing guns at demonstrators, shooting rubberized bullets, using batons, and pushing journalists. One counter-protester was shot with a rubber bullet after shouting "don't shoot" to a police officer.

LAPD Captain Alfonso Lopez said in a video interview shared on social media that police responded to projectiles being thrown at officers and between protesters and counter protesters. He stated the police arrested 38 people.

The conflict emerged in June following the publication of a social media video of Wi Spa's visitor complaining about a transgender woman disrobing in the female section.

In an earlier protest on July 3, both trans-supportive and anti-trans demonstrators clashed outside the Los Angeles spa.
