While the One Direction boys might be on the best terms now, it looks like it wasn't always that way, especially for Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

In a new interview with Capitol FM, Liam says that he and Louis were not on the best of terms when the band first started out back in 2010.

"Louis [was the last person in the band I spoke to]. I speak a lot to Louis. I think, obviously, he’s been through so much and we’ve been through so much together as well," he said. "When we were in the band it kind of felt like, because he was the oldest and because I’d been singing for quite a bit of time we both got put in a weird position because he was wanting to be the leader, and I was doing my thing and wanted to. So, at first we didn’t get on at all. We absolutely hated each other, it was so funny. Really bad. We hid it well. It was crazy."

Liam and Louis may not have been BFFs right away, but it turns out that things ended up working out for the better between them once they got into the rhythm of things.

"In the end, we kind of just settled that we both do different parts of what the thing was and now I feel like that’s kind of followed through into life," he said.

In a separate interview with Hits Radio, Liam also revealed that he talks to Louis the most now.

"I speak to Louis more than I speak to anybody else and we’ve kind of like supported each other through the whole process [of going solo]."

As for who he's talks to the least, the answer might surprise One Direction fans.

"I haven’t spoken to Harry in a while so I don’t really know where his head’s at with [reuniting]," he told Sirius XM. "But I think everybody else has been really outspoken and I think that they’re ready to go whenever. I know Niall was ready the day that we decided to stop for a second. He was like, 'Sure we’re coming back in tomorrow, boys!' He was just ready to go."

With all the boys working on solo music right now, fans might have to wait a little bit longer for them to officially get back together, but at least it's still in the cards for them after all these years.
