Liam Payne Tricks One Direction Fans Into Thinking Band Is Reuniting

Liam Payne got One Direction fans excited after he shared a snap with his former bandmates making many of them think he was announcing the band is reuniting as one. The "Stack It Up" singer tricked everyone in an instant when he posted an Instagram shot with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, sans Zayn Malik, on Wednesday and captioned it with a lengthy dedication. Instead of taking the time to read it, fans lost their minds at the idea of a 1D reunion and immediately began a social media frenzy in the comment section.

Why Everyone's Excited:

The picture includes their "Made In The A.M." album cover. It was the band's fifth studio album and the first without Zayn because he left the group eight months prior. "Happy 4 years made in the am honestly one of my fave albums we made," Liam Payne captioned the snap. If that wasn't enough to get One Direction fans pumped, he also poked fun at himself by joking he's finally learned how to pose. "Also 4 years in and I finally learned how to look towards the camera not away from it (read next part in Ryan Reynolds voiceover) ahhh you keep doing you mini Liam with your lil hat...I wonder what your thinking... did you spot food... ermmm Lil daydream maybe... or MAYBE!! it’s out of protest because you got the floor space not a comfy one on the couch and now your ass is hurting who knows #4YearsOfMITAM."

Fans Can't Breathe:

While many fans left crying emoji and comments remembering when the band was actually together, several jumped the gun and assumed they were making a comeback. "OMG OMG I'm hyperventilating! Please say this is real," one fan excitedly wrote. "Ive been waiting for this news for the past 4 years," commented another. Several others got duped too, but quickly learned the errors of assuming. "Why did I think this was the comeback tour announcement?" a fan asked. "my heart stopped for a moment when I saw the notification, we're all 🤡" stated someone. "omg you really had me for a second!" another 1D fan wrote.

Hiatus or Split?

"Made In The A.M." was released on November 13, 2015 and was the band's debut album as a foursome. It featured the song "History" on it which was essentially a love letter to fans for sticking by their side after Zayn left the group to start his solo career. It was also the last album One Direction would release before announcing their hiatus. The band instantly rose to fame after all five members auditioned separately on the British version of "The X Factor" and were brought together during the show's "Groups" category. One Direction has also made history, holding the record as the only band to have their first four albums debut at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After they announced their hiatus, reports came out it was actually a split. While they have never officially confirmed the band broke up, each member has gone on to release their own music. Liam Payne recently opened up about his time in the band which he called "toxic."
