Liberty Christian continues to dominate 8-man football opponents + latest standings

State-ranked Liberty Christian continued its dominance over opponents on Friday, pounding Yakama Nation Tribal on the road.

Freshman Silas Bjur had the big game for the Patriots in their 64-20 Southeast 1B 8-man football victory.

Bjur rushed 8 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns; while Charlie Branning carried 3 times for 84 yards and two more TDs.

Receiver Hunter Cole caught 3 passes for 75 yards and two scores.

Defensively, Bjur also led the way, earning 8 tackles (5.5 for loss), two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

OTHELLO 45, PROSSER 43: The host Mustangs lost a shootout when Othello kicked a winning 32-yard field goal with just 50 seconds remaining.

Prosser QB Kory McClure put up big numbers, completing 26 of 41 attempts, while throwing five touchdown passes and totaling 436 yards.

Three of his receivers had over 100 yards receiving: Erik Delgado had 5 catches for 145 yards with two TD catches; Landon Bailey added 9 receptions for 122 yards and two scores; and Havic Prieto had 9 catches for 130 receiving yards.

EAST VALLEY-YAKIMA 22, GRANDVIEW 11: Sophomore Nathan Montes de Oca led the visiting Greyhounds on both sides of the both in a CWAC loss.

Montes de Oca rushed 18 times for 104 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he had 9 tackles, 2 pass breakups, an interception, and a fumble recovery.

Alejandro Garcia-Diaz added 80 yards rushing on just 9 carries for the Greyhounds.

SUNNYSIDE 48, EISENHOWER 7: The visiting Grizzlies improved to 2-1 in CBBN play by beating Eisenhower on Friday.

Noah McNair, who has committed to Air Force, scored three touchdowns — one 23-yard interception return and two receiving TDs.

Luis Castillo also added a defensive touchdown for Sunnyside, that one be a 35-yard Pick-6.

Offensively, Rylee Gonzalez rushed for 119 yards on 22 carries to lead the Grizzlies, while quarterback Ethan Avalos was 13 for 21 for 161 yards passing and four TD passes.

RIVER VIEW 17, TRI-CITIES PREP 14: Hyatt Clark’s field goal in the waning seconds of the game gave the host Panthers a key 2B EWAC victory on Friday.

Clark also finished with 128 yards passing, while Karson Rawlings had 137 total yards of offense (92 rushing on 15 carries, 45 yards off four receptions). Rawlings also scored both TD’s for the Panthers.

Devin Nelson led River View defensively with 9 tackles (3 for loss), two quarterback sacks and a blocked PAT kick attempt.

Rawlings, at linebacker, added 9 tackles, an interception and a pass breakup.

ROYAL 55, KIONA-BENTON 0: Top-ranked Royal continued its winning ways in a rout over the Bears.

Lance Allred passed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, as the Knights jumped out to a 35-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

Cade Christensen had 2 catches for 71 yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson Larsen added 3 receptions for 62 yards and a score.

The Knights have a bye this weekend.

TOPPENISH 26, CONNELL 16: The host Eagles dropped their final non-league game on Thursday night to the Wildcats.Kellen Riner led Connell in the losing effort, catching 10 passes for 121 yards, while running back Jackson Forsyth rushed 18 times for another 107 yards.

Carson Lloyd was 18 for 31 for 166 yards and two TD passes.

Defensively, Tucker Thomasson and Kaine Geddes each had 7 tackles for Connell.
