Liberty North wins Class 6 baseball championship. Scores from Missouri state tournaments

While the Liberty North girls soccer team was sweating out a state championship win in overtime — to complete a perfect season — the baseball team was putting the finishing touches on a decisive 9-3 victory over Francis Howell in the Class 6 state championship game.

Indeed, Liberty North earned not one but two Missouri state championships on Saturday.

Liberty North (34-7) scored two runs in each of the first three innings and led Francis Howell (31-11) 6-1 after the third. The Eagles scored two more runs in the fifth to go up 8-1 and added another insurance run in the seventh.

Andrew Agnew (4 IP, 1 ER), who is headed to Missouri S&T, and Kansas signee Ty Wisdom (3 IP, 2 ER) combined to take the Eagles to the finish line.

Wisdom, who had two RBIs in the game, doubled in a run in the first inning. Bo Jonas, an Oklahoma baseball commit, followed with an RBI-double to score Wisdom from second and put Liberty North up 2-0.

Jackson Downing, who will play college baseball at Arkansas State, had an RBI-single in the second, and Jack Lemasters, a Washburn signee, scored two runs and recorded two RBIs throughout the evening.

Here is a look at the Missouri state baseball results for all classes. All MSHSAA state semifinal and title games took place at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark.
