Licking County Health schedules COVID-19 vaccine clinics for kids

Licking County Health Department on Tuesday announced two additonal remote clinics to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to children.

According to the agency, clinics will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Marne United Methodist Church, located at 1019 Licking Valley Road in Newark, and 3-5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Utica Church of Christ, located at 115 North Central Ave. in Utica.

The clinics will offer the vaccine for children ages five to 11. Parents or guardians will need to make an appointment for their child on the agency's website.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive the vaccine. If a minor arrives with an adult who isn't their parent or guardian, they must have a written statement from their parent or guardian granting permission for the child to receive the vaccine.

The agency announced their walk-in clinics for COVID-19 and the flu will have adjusted hours on certain days due to the holidays and their staff working remote clinics. The changes can be viewed at LickingCoHealth.org.
