Licking Heights High Schools puts on student-run play

When theatre students at Licking Heights High School learned in August that there would likely not be a fall play in 2021, the students decided to do something about it.

Junior Allison Bricker and a group of several other dedicated theatre students met and came up with a plan. They brainstormed possible plays, they discussed logistics, defined the budget, and obtained sponsorship from a local business.

And on Dec. 3-4 all their hard work came to fruition as Licking Heights High School’s Theater Department presented "The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong" at the high school as an entirely student-run production.

The play is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, and is presented by Dramatist Play Service Inc.

The show, was directed by Bricker, who was also the co-stage manager for the stage crew. The stage crew was led by Isaac Poe, who helped with co-directing.

The cast included Hailey Byers as Annie, Carley strange as Trevor, Carter Russ as Chris/Inspector Carter, Dylan Walter-Weeks as Jonathan/Charles Haversham, Ayden Kerg as Robert/Thomas Colleymoore, Sarah Johnson as Dennis/Perkins, Santana Campbell-White as Max/Cecil Haversham, and Noelle Johnson as Sandra/Florence Colleymoore.

The play was sponsored by Dot-X Technologies.
