The countdown is on to Election Day, but tonight the Fettermans are still recovering in the hospital.

Channel 11 sat down with Lt. Governor John Fetterman’s wife Gisele about the moment she knew something wasn’t right and why she’s so thankful they got help as fast as they did.

“I just noticed something for a minute his mouth just moved for a slight second something I don’t think others would have noticed if they didn’t know him,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman recalled the exact moment she knew her husband was having a stroke.

“He had AFIB which is a common thing that people have either their heart beats too fast or too slow it’s kind of irregular. It caused a blood clot and that clot traveled and so they removed it,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman told Channel 11 everything is going well now as the Lt. Governor recovers in the hospital, and she believes it’s because of their fast action.

“Life is so unpredictable. I’m grateful my husband is well and safe and is going to make a full recovery. I believe everything else will just fall into place,” Fetterman said.

As for Election Day, she said she will be taking charge as the Lt. Governor continues to rest in the hospital.

“I will take over election night events. I will run the show there, we will all be there to represent him and I can update him after and in a few days he can be back out there but for right now I want him sleeping and relaxing,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman even took his phone away from him to put aside the campaign trail and rest up. She wants to thank everyone who has reached out to the family and encourages everyone to learn the signs of a stroke.
