BELLEVUE, WA — Lifeguards will be returning to six Bellevue-area beaches starting this Saturday, June 27.
According to the city, the following beaches will have lifeguards on duty:
- Enatai Beach
- Meydenbauer Bay
- Newcastle Beach
- Chism Beach
- Clyde Beach
- Chesterfield Park
Chesterfield Park will only have guards on duty between 2 and 5 p.m. The rest will be staffed from noon to 7 p.m.
The city plans to have lifeguards at these beaches through most of the summer. Chism, Clyde and Chesterfield Beach Parks will have lifeguards on duty through August 22. Enatai, Meydenbauer Bay and Newcastle Beaches will have lifeguards through labor day.
While the beaches are reopening, Bellevue officials say they expect everyone to continue following coronavirus safety guidelines. That means wearing face coverings as required by the governor's mandate, and keeping six feet away from others where possible.
