Airbnb reveals Icon listings, from Pixar’s ‘Up’ house to Prince’s Purple Rain house
If you have ever wanted to join Russel and Carl on a trip to Paradise Falls, spend the night at the Ferrari Museum, or stay at Prince’s Purple Rain house, Airbnb has the perfect listing for you.
On Wednesday, the vacation rental company announced the inaugural slate of icon listings at a news conference in Los Angeles.
A replica of Pixar’s “Up” house headlined the event. The house, equipped with colorful balloons as shown in the 2009 animated feature, will be suspended high in the air thanks to help from a crane and overlook the New Mexico desert.
The house will be fully functional since it is connected to a generator and other utilities will be disconnected and reconnected before and after flying, the New York Times reported.
Immerse yourself in the world of racing with a stay at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy. You’ll sleep on a bed crafted from the same leather as Ferrari seats, take a lap with Scuderia Ferrari ambassador driver Marc Gené, and head to Emilia-Romagna’s premier race as a VIP. Other iconic listings include a recreation of the mansion from the “X-Men ‘97” cartoon, built to appear two-dimensional, a VIP visit to Kevin Hart’s members-only Coramino Live Lounge for one evening, a stay at Prince’s Purple Rain house in Minneapolis and more.

New food festival, parade coming to the Disneyland Resort for Pixar Fest
This isn’t the first time Airbnb has brought iconic houses to life or allowed the public to stay at ultra-private destinations. Last year, they brought Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse to life ahead of the “Barbie” movie release.
Guests also had the opportunity to stay at Shrek’s Swamp in Scotland.
The bookings for some of the“Icon” listings are available on the Airbnb website. Other listings will be available within the coming months.
Airbnb also rolled out other new features on its platform this week, including the ability for groups of guests to book trips together more efficiently.
