Prince William and Princess Catherine are supporting Turkey and Syria amid the devastating earthquakes that have affected the regions.

This morning, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the Hayes Muslim Centre in London to thank those involved in the aid efforts following the natural disasters, per a Kensington Palace statement.

Last month, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and northern Syria, killing tens of thousands of people. The quake concentrated on the town of Pazarcik, in Turkey's southeastern Kahramanmaras province, and was followed by a 7.5 quake and several powerful aftershocks.

The United Kingdom announced soon after the tragedy that it was deploying emergency response teams to Turkey to assist in rescue efforts, with U.K. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly tweeting, "The UK is sending immediate support to Türkiye including a team of 76 search & rescue specialists, equipment and rescue dogs. In Syria, the UK-funded White Helmets have mobilised their resources to respond. We stand ready to provide further support as needed."

Princess Kate and William voiced their sadness over the situation and their willingness to support the relief efforts in a February 9 tweet. "We have been horrified to see the harrowing images coming out of Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the earthquakes this week. Our thoughts are with the communities affected and we are pleased to support the @decappeal campaign which will aid the response on the ground," they wrote on Twitter at the time, signing the message "W&C."

This Thursday morning, they met with aid workers and fundraisers dedicated to the cause. The Hayes Muslim Centre has raised over $29,000 for Turkey and Syria to date.

For the occasion, Kate looked lovely in a long black dress with a pleated skirt, over which she layered a matching long coat from Catherine Walker & Co, and a white-and-black headscarf by Élan. (She first wore a top by the designer, in the same pattern as the scarf, during a visit to Pakistan in 2019.)

Kate finished the look with black tights, black suede pumps, and a black leather handbag. She kept her makeup to a minimum, and for jewelry, she wore her sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring from William.

William looked dapper in a navy sweater over a light bike dress shirt and black tie, navy trousers, a gray blazer, and brown shoes.
