How Tyler residents can get their child safety seats checked

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The community is invited to attend a child safety seat checkup on Friday at a Tyler police station.

The Tyler Police Department said the event, which is in conjunction with the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Texas Department of Transportation, will go from 3-6 p.m. at the Faulkner Police Station, located on 574 W. Cumberland Rd.

According to a release, parents will be able to ensure that their child’s safety seat is the correct one and installed properly with the help of trained child passenger technicians.

“This is a great opportunity to ensure that your child’s safety seat is put in correctly and securely to keep your children as safe as possible,” Tyler PD said.

People are asked to bring their vehicle owner’s manual and the car seat instruction booklet.
