'A lifetime ticket:' Clarksville's Downtown Commons event honors outgoing Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett

Friends and colleagues were on hand late last week to wish outgoing Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett a fond farewell as he prepares to leave office.

About 100 people attended the event at Downtown Commons, a project Durrett spearheaded during his 8 years in office.

During the festivities, Durrett was presented with a lifetime ticket to the new F&M Bank Arena and notified that a room inside the facility would bear his name since he was so involved with the project,

He was also given several proclamations and awards.

A large screen was set up to display photos and memories from his time in office.
