‘Light Up the Night’ at Downtown Petoskey Holiday Parade on Nov. 25
PETOSKEY — Santa is coming to town, and Petoskey is throwing him a parade.
The annual Downtown Petoskey Holiday Parade is set to take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25. This year’s theme is “Light Up the Night.”
“This is always one of our community’s most treasured little traditions,” said Andi Symonds, marketing and promotions director for Downtown Petoskey.
The 2023 parade is being coordinated by Petoskey Sunrise Rotary on behalf of the Downtown Management Board.
“We kind of work together to put this parade on,” said Symonds. “It’s your classic holiday parade. We have a lot of nonprofits and organizations and businesses that participate in the parade handing out candy, handing out holiday cheer, spreading that magic throughout downtown.”

The Petoskey High School Marching Band will also be taking part, and Santa will be on the final float to close out the parade.
“It’s always really fun. The downtown is lit up ready for the holiday season,” Symonds said. “The theme is ‘Light up the Night,’ so a lot of floats are decked out in Christmas lights.”
After the parade, a fundraiser for the Petoskey band program will take place at Grandpa Shorter’s. The Community Shopping Night will be from 6:30-9 p.m. with prizes, refreshments and music. A small steel drum ensemble will perform outside The Katydid after the parade.
