Light pole crash causes further post-Super Bowl congestion on Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A light pole was struck and fell into the roadway on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night, further exacerbating traffic congestion following the big game.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials, a vehicle crashed into the light pole at Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. The crash occurred at 8:56 p.m., Sunday police said.

One person was injured in the crash. The extent of that person’s injury was not immediately known. The downed pole was blocking one lane, and causing further delays on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The crash occurred after the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium, which was already causing traffic congestion on Las Vegas Boulevard.
