Light rail service in downtown Pittsburgh to be disrupted this weekend

The first of several service disruptions for Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s light rail service will begin this weekend as repair work starts in some of the underground subway tunnels downtown.

Concrete-related repair work is slated to begin between Steel Plaza and Gateway stations at 8 p.m. Friday and last until the start of regular transit service on Monday, March 27. Similar work and its subsequent service disruptions will resume again during the following weekend and over the course of yet-to-be-determined weekends in the future.
