The Light Within: Christ’s presence in our lives

Christ Jesus was assuring when he spoke: “… lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world…” (Matthew 28:20).

I often had wondered how spoken messages (words) from Christ could be transmitted to our consciousness during every minute of every day. To be with us always, could there be another means of communication from Christ without words?

Like many of you, I believe that — yes — Christ is with us always. However, the “message” is not always specific guiding words in thought. At times, it’s a quiet, prevailing sense of peace, inspiration, gratitude and other spiritual qualities that God blesses us through Christ’s presence.

In other words, with a quiet, open mind we can be receptive also to unspoken expressions from God through Christ. Relief from fear and frustration, for example, may come from turning our thought to this ever-present Christ for a feeling of peace.

God’s love for us is in the calm, uplifting presence of Christ through specific words, or from an influential awareness of God’s on-going settling harmony.

In both respects, Christ Jesus’ promise, “…lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world…,” is consistent.
