Lightning Bolt Forms Crater on Pavement During Storm in Hatfield, Massachusetts
Scattered thunderstorms produced lightning and heavy rain across parts of Massachusetts on Tuesday, June 8.
This footage shared by Western Mass News meteorologist Janna Brown shows the impact of a lightning bolt in the town of Hatfield. “Lightning struck the pavement in Hatfield today and the 6-inch deep, 10-inch in diameter hole continues to smoke,” Brown wrote in a tweet.
As of Wednesday, high temperatures had been affecting and surrounding regions ahead of cooler weather that was forecast to start on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Credit: Western Mass News via Storyful
