Lightning Bolt Strikes Toronto's CN Tower on Stormy Night

A Toronto resident captured lightning bolts hitting the city’s CN Tower during a night of thunderstorms on September 6-7.

Weather enthusiast Colie Stevenson filmed several videos which showed the strikes in the early hours of the morning.

The CN Tower gets struck by lightning around 75 times per year on average. The tower has a series of copper strips to diffuse the electrical discharge produced from the lightning into the ground. Credit: Colie Stevenson via Storyful
