RALEIGH, N.C. — The Lightning will get top right-shot defenseman Erik Cernak back for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series against the Hurricanes tonight at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

But defenseman David Savard will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury.

Both players participated in today’s optional morning skate.

Cernak left Game 1 late in the second period after being sandwiched between two Hurricanes players against the end boards and didn’t return or practice Monday.

Savard played in all six games of the Lightning’s six-game first-round series win over Florida, averaging 15:40 of ice time.

Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said Savard has been managing an injury — before Game 1, he last missed action on April 27 against Chicago — and could return as early as Thursday’s Game 3 in Tampa.
