Bartlesville High School’s swim season is sailing toward what should be an exciting — perhaps blockbuster — conclusion.

For those readers who said they wanted to see this exceptional group of water warriors compete, you have only one chance — the Bartlesville Senior Night meet on Jan. 24 at the Adams Pool.

A little more than a week later, Bartlesville will begin Class 6A regional competition on Feb. 3, in Jenks.

The state meet is set for Feb. 16 in Edmond.

Both the Bartlesville boys and girls came in second — to Jenks — in the recent Frontier Valley Conference championships.

The Lady Bruins finished within striking distance, meaning they should be one of the favorites at state to challenge for the 6A title.

Several Bartlesville swimmers are wrapping up amazing season.

Here’s a closer look at how some of the swimmers have fared. We’ll take a look at others later in the week.

GRIFFIN CRAIG (Jr.)

Craig has competed like a defending state champion with his bones, joints, tendons and muscles still rife with potential for even stronger days ahead.

He is almost undefeated in all individual competitions this year — 11-1. He suffered his only loss in the 100 breast — the only time he’s swam that race this season — against another Bartlesville-area non-Bartlesville High competitor.

Craig is 3-0 in the 100 backstroke, 3-0 in the 100 butterfly and perfect in his other events.

Following is a closer look, with the date in parentheses.
