Lil Jon, Gabriel Iglesias to headline 2023 Colorado State Fair

Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Jon and iconic comedian Gabriel Iglesias were announced Monday as this year's headliners for the Colorado State Fair.

The 151st edition of the fair, scheduled for Aug. 25 to Sept. 4, has adopted a theme of "Mountains of Fun," and the scheduled performances at the Southwest Motors Event Center by the king of crunk music and the comedian known as "Fluffy" should help fairgoers get started climbing those mountains.

To celebrate the 151st state fair in Colorado, the fair hosted a flash sale Monday morning, which was exactly 151 days before the upcoming fair — and offered admission tickets for $1.51 for a period of 151 minutes. Fair organizers hosted a similar flash sale last year to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the fair and sold more than 26,000 tickets, but this year's sale blew those numbers out of the water: more than 66,000 tickets were sold Monday from 10 a.m. to 12:31 p.m.

Lil Jon is an Atlanta-based rapper who has produced several Billboard Hot 100 singles for well-known tracks like "Salt Shaker", "Cyclone", and "Get Low." He's a five-time Grammy award nominee who won the award in 2005 in the Best Rap/Sung Performance category for the song "Yeah!" with Usher and Ludacris.

Iglesias is one of America’s most successful stand-up comedians, as well as one of the most watched comedians on YouTube — his content has amassed nearly 1 billion views and has more than 25 million fans across social media, according to his website.

He's also the star and executive producer of "Mr. Iglesias", an original comedy series on Netflix.

Tickets for Iglesias and Lil Jon will go on sale on Friday, March 31, according to a news release from the state fair. They can be purchased online at coloradostatefair.com, by phone at 1-800-514-3849, and in person at the Colorado State Fair Box Office. Concert tickets purchased on or before Aug. 24 include fair general admission.

Also set to perform at this year's fair is Country music trio Lady A, formerly known as Lady Antebellum, with special guest Kat & Alex. Lady A was initially one of three headliners set to perform at the 2022 fair, but the group later postponed its North American tour, including its stop in Pueblo.

Lady A will perform at the fair at 7 p.m. on Sept. 1; tickets for the show are already on sale at the Colorado State Fair website with prices ranging from $50 to $70.

Additional information about performances and events at this year's fair will be released in May, according to the state fair's release.

To align with this year's “Mountains of Fun” theme, the 2023 Colorado State Fair will feature a lumberjack show, themed sand sculpture, and History Colorado’s “Our Mountains” exhibit.

Advance general admission tickets will go on sale Friday for $9, and advance single-day carnival tickets will go on sale for $32. Both of those discounted tickets will be available through Aug. 24, according to the fair's release.
