It's hard to believe it's been three years since Lil Nas X made history with "Old Town Road." The country-rap song was made on a shoestring budget in complete obscurity, and went on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time.

A lot has changed since then. Lil Nas X — born Montero Hill — has proved he's not a one-hit wonder several times over, with "Call Me By Your Name," "Industry Baby," "Panini" and other successes. Last year, he released his debut album "Montero," which went platinum and made him a top nominee at this year's Grammy Awards.

One thing he hasn't gotten to do yet is tour, thanks to the pandemic. That changes in September, when he embarks on his first-ever headlining trek — which includes a Nashville date.

Lil Nas X will bring his "Long Live Montero" tour to Nashville Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, October 1. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday.

Though it's his first tour, this will actually mark the third time Lil Nas X has performed in Nashville. During the 2019 CMA Music Fest, he joined Billy Ray Cyrus to perform "Old Town Road" at Nissan Stadium and Lower Broadway bar Ole Red.
