Lil Wayne fans sound off after rapper misses another scheduled performance

Lil Wayne fans were notified last minute the rapper would not be at a scheduled performance in Las Vegas Saturday night, in the latest of a series of cancellations he's made over the past few months.

The rapper was listed as a headliner for the Life is Beautiful festival over the weekend, which also saw music and comedy performances from Post Malone, Janelle Monae, "Queer Eye" star Jonathan Van Ness and "Saturday Night Live" alum Fred Armisen.

Fans lined up for his scheduled 9:20 p.m. show, but were notified after arriving via a written message on event monitors that the rapper would not perform.

"Unfortunately, Lil Wayne will not be able to perform tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience," read the boards, marked with the Life is Beautiful logo.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Lil Wayne and Life is Beautiful for comment.

"I hope Lil Wayne is okay," Rob Sherrell tweeted, along with a video of screens announcing Wayne's cancellation. "He's been pulling out of a lot of show dates and he just cancelled on us at Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas."

YouTuber Tana Mongeau tweeted that she flew to Las Vegas for the festival and lamented not getting to see Wayne perform.

"That's the NINTH TIME I've paid for a show and he cancelled," she wrote, joking that she had "100%" jinxed the concert.

Another fan tweeted yesterday that his 15-year-old self would be "smiling" because he was finally going see Lil Wayne live for the first time.

"And he decided not to show up," @BobbyBasedgod wrote hours later. "Officially done with Lil Wayne." "I'm so salty (Lil Wayne) didn't show at #LifeisBeautiful2019," added user @Jamison_lundemo.

Wayne skipped an appearance last week on his joint tour with Blink-182 after claiming he was kicked out of a St. Louis hotel that morning.

Police received a call around 10 a.m. Sept. 14 from the Ritz-Carlton about a verbal disturbance between Lil Wayne's entourage and hotel staff, which began over complaints of marijuana smells coming from the rapper's room, Clayton Police Department Public Information Officer and Cpl. Jenny Schwartz told USA TODAY at the time.

The rapper apologized to fans the next day on Twitter, writing he was "kik'd out" of his hotel and therefore wouldn't be performing in St. Louis. "It's all luv tho," he added.

But Schwartz said the rapper and his party left the hotel voluntarily and were not forced to leave, as his tweet suggested. No legal action was taken.

Earlier this summer, he reportedly walked off a Virginia stage in July midway through a performance after complaining about the show's crowd size.

“Hold on, I just want the people to know, if you’re wondering, please forgive me but I am so not used to performing to a crowd – and there’s not too many – that’s not my swag,” he said, stopping one of his songs. “I’m not sure how long I’m going to be able to do this tour, but make some noise for Blink-182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night, though. Let’s go.”

The rapper later assured fans on Twitter he would not be quitting the tour, tweeting, "yesterday was krazy! But I want all my fans to know I won't be quitting this tour! I'm having too much fun with my bros blink-182."
