  • Lili Reinhart has just tweeted that she's suffered from OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) since she was a child.

  • The Riverdale star revealed her condition to address the social media backlash she faced after mentioning she was “OCD” in an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

We all know somebody who believes they’re “a little bit OCD” about how they like their morning brew, or perhaps the way they iron their clothes. The acronym for obsessive compulsive disorder is so flippantly thrown around in general chat that many people forget that it’s a real disorder with real people suffering from it.

Over the past week, people have accused Riverdale star Lili Reinhart of doing just this.

During her The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon appearance on November 14, the actress spoke of the fake vomit used when she was shooting Hustlers.

"It was actually animal crackers and Sprite mixed together," Lili said.

"I thought I was going to have a problem here because I have this really like, OCD thing with floaters in water and in drinks. Like if my drink has a little floater in it, I’m like, get it out. That’s when I want to throw up! So having a cup of something that basically looked like ‘floaters’ in water was like my worst nightmare."

After her interview, she faced backlash online, with people suggesting she was making light of the disorder.

However, Lili has set the record straight and revealed that "it wasn’t just a little quip". She is actually diagnosed with OCD.

"I just want to put out there re: my Fallon interview— I actually do suffer from OCD, it wasn’t just a little quip I made on a talk show. I’ve had OCD since I was in elementary school. So, yes. I do have the right to talk about it. Thanks," she wrote on Twitter.

She’s since received positive responses, with fans thanking her for her honesty and also identifying with her as a sufferer. Go Lili.
