  • Lili Reinhart opened up about writing poetry for Cole Sprouse.

  • She’s writing a poetry book that’s coming out next year.

Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse have reportedly been acting like their breakup never happened, but that rumored split was then and this is now. And just a couple of days ago, Lili opened up about writing poetry for Cole and how her fans have already started preordering her new book.

In case you missed it, Lili writes poetry every now and then for her BF. She posted a poem on Instagram for his birthday that went a little something like this:

“I tried to find a poem that I could send to you. Because my words were failing me. But I searched and found nothing that did you justice. All of these love poems can’t get it right. No one else’s words could ever fit. They haven’t known the fortune it is to love you.”

No, that didn’t rhyme, but not all poems have to, mmkay?!

Anyway, Lili decided to take her talent and secure a book deal. (Swimming Lessons comes out May 5, 2020.) And on Friday, she opened up to InStyle about why she only writes poems for Cole and not, like, all her other Riverdale costars. Spoiler: It has everything to do with the fact that poetry is ~romantic~. She explained, “I write poems for Cole. But to be honest, I don’t really write them for anyone else. I think it’s a romantic thing. It can be quite intimate.”

As for if the book will be about Cole, that’s likely going to be a no from her, dawg. She called it a “work of fiction” that will talk about love, heartbreak, and dealing with mental health struggles while living in the spotlight. In a previous IG post, though, she said her “own experiences were my inspiration throughout the creation of Swimming Lessons.”

So maybe just think of it as a book that’s inspired by IRL events, but don’t expect any poems about her and Cole’s expertly timed Instagrams denying their rumored breakup.

Whatever the case may be, her fans are already preordering their copies, which she’s eternally grateful for. She added, “They don’t even know if I can write. They just put their faith in me, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. It’s very kind.”
