Limestone correctional officer facing charges for prison contraband incident

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Limestone correctional officer has been placed on leave and is facing charges in connection to a prison contraband incident involving an inmate.

On Tuesday, the Alabama Department of Corrections executed six arrest warrants on Tia Scott, a correctional officer at Limestone Correctional Facility.

An ADOC spokesperson told News 19 that the six warrants are connected to an investigation into a promoting prison contraband incident involving an inmate at Donaldson Correctional Facility, Latransezon Malloy.

Scott was interviewed and transported to the Limestone County Jail, where she was booked on six counts of use of office for personal gain.

ADOC also said Scott has been placed on mandatory leave pending the outcome of her case.
