Earth Day is April 22, but we look for small ways to make the planet a better place to live every day. And if you're a coffee fan, Trade's new limited-edition roast makes it easier than ever.

Trade's coffee subscription service offers more than 400 different blends from its country-wide network of roasters, as well as thoughtful roast recommendations based on brewing style and taste. But what makes the brand special is its commitment to community. Through its Act for All initiative, it collaborates with a roaster partner to release an exclusive coffee for the month, then donates $2 from every bag sold to a cause chosen by that roaster. For Earth month, Trade has teamed up with Wisconsin-based Wonderstate Coffee to make the Organic Resilience Blend supporting Grow Ahead, which focuses on tackling climate change through funding farmer-led agroforestry projects.

"Grow Ahead's mission is to support a climate-resilient future by teaming up with community organizations around the world to improve the environment and community livelihoods," Wonderstate wrote when explaining its selection. "As one of the world's first solar-powered roasteries, we take that mission seriously in all aspects of the supply chain."

The limited-edition Organic Resilience Blend is a combination of two high-elevation single origins from South America and highlights the importance of environmentally focused coffee harvesting, Wondersate explains.

"Both the Fondo Paez Cooperative from Colombia and the San Fernando Cooperative from Peru use sustainable farming practices to preserve their heirloom varietals of coffee. The resilience of these coffee producers gives us the chance to try the unique flavors of these coffees that otherwise would be lost due to climate change."

The coffee itself is a light-medium roast with a fruity profile that Trade says is balanced by "a brownie-like sweetness and a kiss of maple candy on the finish." It's perfect for anyone who favors drip-style coffee, from pour-overs to programmable machines.
