Linda Lusardi has given an emotional interview on Good Morning Britain as she opened up about her battle with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Linda and her husband Sam fell ill with the virus recently and she spent 10 days in hospital, though is now on the mend back at home.

Appearing on today's (April 8) GMB, Linda was brought to tears as she recalled her ordeal, admitting at one point she thought, "I've had it".

"I thank God that I'm one of the lucky ones that came through it," she explained. "Sam and I were both in A&E in the beginning. We were looking at each other thinking, 'Are we going to make it through this?'

"The second night I was there, Sam was taken downstairs because he'd tested positive, I tested negative first of all.

"A doctor came in and was washing his hands and I said, 'Am I going to get through this?' and he was like, 'I'll be honest with you, I can't promise you, you're 61 and we don't know what we're dealing with'.

"At that point I thought I've had it. I rang Sam and said, 'You better come up because I don't know if I'm going to make it'," Linda added, saying her husband came to see her and made her "stronger".

She also revealed that at one point doctors considered putting her on a ventilator because her oxygen levels were so low, though they gradually improved day by day.

Linda later encouraged people to stay indoors and self-isolate, noting: "This will be over a lot quicker if we all just followed the rules."
