Lindsay Lohan has asked a fan on TikTok to take down a video of her that went viral earlier this month. In the video Lohan offers the fan advice on coming out to her parents, which subsequently went viral online and was picked up by several media outlets. However the fan has since said that she received a message from Lindsay Lohan's Cameo account asking her to remove the video since it was intended for "private use only."

It all started when TikTok user @shhlana, real name Alana, posted a video saying she wanted to come out to her parents. Two weeks later she followed up with another TikTok saying she hadn't yet spoken to her parents, but had an idea about the conversation.

"But hear me out," she told viewers. "What if I got Lindsay Lohan to tell my parents? She's on Cameo right now. And wouldn’t that be iconic?"

Shortly after, Lohan did in fact record and send Alana a video on Cameo, however instead of coming out to Alana's parents on her behalf she offered some advice instead.

"Hi, Alana, it’s Lindsay Lohan. I know that you are about to take a very big step in telling your parents who you truly are and what you want them to accept of you — and I think you should do it yourself. I think that coming from you, you’ll feel a lot of power and strength. And it’s important that you are who you truly are, and that you love yourself and that you can live by that and tell your parents that."

The TikTok with Lohan's advice quickly went viral with people praising her for her honest and encouraging advice. Alana even shared a video soon after saying that she had taken the advice and come out to her parents, wanting to tell them herself and not have them find out online, adding that they responded well to the news.

However, yesterday TikTok user Alana told Variety that she received a message from Lindsay Lohan's cameo account saying, "Hi! Just wanted to ask if you could take the cameo down because it was private for your use only."

According to Variety a representative from Cameo stated that "The user has a license to share the unedited video," and as a result the video has not been taken down.

Lohan has yet to comment publicly on the video.
