Lindsay Lohan Uses Pope Francis To Promote New Song 'Xanax'

Lindsay Lohan used a funny meme of Pope Francis, to promote her new song “Xanax”.

Last night, Lohan posted the meme which shows an altered image of Pope Francis holding up a copy of her debut album “Speak”. She captioned it, “Blessed Be The Fruit”.

The original photography of the Pope was taken in 2013, during a visit to the National Shrine of Our Lady Aparecida. He was holding communion when the image was snapped and celebrating Mass.

Lohan has since deleted the meme but did share video of her learning dance moves with a choreographer for “Xanax”.

Lohan has been hyping the new music ahead of its full-length release. She dropped a 30-second teaser of the song on an episode of The Kris Fade Show on Virgin Dubai Radio.

The Blast obtained an exclusive preview of the full-length song and the lyrics are closely related to Lohan's own life. She sings about living out in Los Angeles and chasing someone that is bad for her. Lilo compares the ex to the anti-anxiety medicine.

The track starts off “I don’t like the parties in LA, I go home. In a bad mood, pass out, wake up alone. Just to do it all over again. Looking for you."

“Only one reason I came here. Too many people, I can’t hear. Damn, I got here at 10. Now it’s 4am."

The track continues, “I can’t be in this club. It’s too crowded and I’m fu**ed. Ain't nobody here for love. Ain’t nobody care bout us.”

“I got social anxiety, but you’re like Xanax to me. Social anxiety when you kiss me, I can’t breathe.”

Sources close to Lohan tell The Blast, Lilo felt the lyrics were “truthful” to her “life experience”.

We’re told she feels the song is about what a bad boyfriend and toxic friends can do to someone, such as distracting them like drugs can do.

Sources say Lohan wanted the song to express how you don’t have to numb yourself and only you control your life.

Lohan has been teasing new music for months, posting on social media photos of her in the studio.

Last month, she posted a photo from inside Republic Records captioned, “@republicrecords@casablancarecords".

"Xanax" is in the same vein as Lohan's classic hit songs. Lohan has released two studio albums 2004’s ‘Speak’ and 2005’s “A Little More Personal (Raw)”. "Speak" was certified Platinum (selling over a million copies) and her follow-up went Gold (selling over 500,000 copies).

She broke out in music with the song "Rumors", where she sang about wanting everyone to back up.

Her next massive hit was “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father), which detailed her complicated relationship with her father.

The last music we heard from her was 2008’s “Bossy”, which was produced by Ne-Yo.

The actress is currently a judge on “Masked Singer Australia”
