We have some intel on the latest PCM of Peaky Blinders, gaffer. (That's Potential Cast Member, of course.)

Vicky McClure may be best-loved for her role as Line of Duty's DI Kate Fleming, but Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has hinted that the actress might be about to defect to another OCG.

Earlier this year, Vicky revealed that she had "auditioned for every series of Peaky Blinders" but had never been offered a role.

Knight has now admitted that he was "surprised" the BAFTA-winning actress had failed to join the ranks of the notorious Birmingham gang, before hinting that he'd be happy to have her on the drama. As the rest of us would too.

"I've worked with her and I think she is brilliant. She would be great," he told The Mirror.

Make it happen, people.

Of course, Vicky's Line of Duty co-star Stephen Graham has recently been confirmed for a role in either season six or seven of the show, although who he'll be playing is currently a closely-guarded secret.

When asked who Graham would be playing if he's not reprising his Boardwalk Empire role of Al Capone, Knight said: "I've already got it and I'm not going to tell you!"

Peaky Blinders will move to BBC One when it returns later in 2019.
