Lineman killed while cleaning up fallen trees after storms in Jasper County
A third person has died after tornadoes, and severe storms moved through much of Georgia on Thursday.
According to his family, 32-year-old Jesse Maxwell, a lineman with Georgia Right of Way,,three, was killed while working to restore power to his community.

Family members say Maxwell was in a bucket truck in Jasper County when a limb kicked back and hit him in the head.
The family released a statement to Channel 2 Action News on Saturday that read:
“[Jesse] was an amazing father and husband who led his family to Relevant Church in Locust Grove every Sunday, where he was a member and served. Jesse loved deer hunting with his 11yr old son Lucas but he was also an amazing girl dad to his 3 daughters Lorynn (7), Maddie (6), and River (4). If he wasn’t coaching their softball games, he was always in the stands supporting his children. From throwing the ball in the yard, to doing art at the kitchen table, Jesse was there. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Hope. We all admire his love for her and their children. Jesse is best known for his bad jokes and always making people laugh. He loved his job and had a passion for helping people.”

Two others, a GDOT worker in Walker County and a 5-year-old boy in Butts County, were killed as a result of the storms.
Maxwell’s family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help offset expenses.
