Lions let go of 3 members of the scouting staff

The week after every NFL draft is often one of change for scouting staffs around the league. That’s especially true for teams that undergo front office and coaching overhauls like the Detroit Lions did this offseason.

So it’s not surprising that the Lions parted ways with three members of the scouting staff. Collegiate scouting director Ron Miles and scouts Chuck Brensinger and Jay Muraco are no longer with the team. Muraco was Detroit’s collegiate scout in the northeast region, while Brensigner worked on the pro scouting side.

No immediate replacements have been hired. The Lions have been linked to former Panthers area scout Mike Martin, but nothing formal has happened on that front just yet. Lions GM Brad Holmes served as the Rams’ director of collegiate scouting for several years before coming to Detroit, so he should have a good idea of what the wants in the position.
