With six returning starters from last season’s 12-6 team, expectations are high for the Minerva boys bowling team.

Back are seniors Ahdyn Lautzenheiser, Cameron Mayle, Isaac Wisenbarger, Nick Baumgardner and Lloyd Grate; and junior Isaiah Frazier.

Lautzenheiser (194 average) and Mayle (194) both earned American Division and Eastern Buckeye Conference first-team honors a season ago.

Frazier (188) was selected to the American Division first team and EBC second team, Wisenbarger (180) was named to the American Division second team and honorable mention EBC, and Baumgardner (164) earned EBC honorable-mention status.

Also being looked upon to contribute are juniors Michael May and Dylan Bias.

“We are a strong and mature team,” stated Head Coach Nick Embrogno. “We are welcoming back six returning lettermen, five being seniors. The boys are hoping to improve spares, attitude and baker games. We are strong at individuality and cheering each other on.”

Coach Embrogno predicts his starting lineup to consist of Lautzenheiser, Mayle, Frazier, Wisenbarger and Grate.

“We are hoping to bring back the league championship this year,” commented Coach Embrogno. “There will be some challengers along the way with the strength of other teams.

“We hope to not only win the league, but to make it to state.”
