Even though he didn’t factor into the passing game in his first time in a Lions uniform, Detroit saw enough in veteran wide receiver Geronimo Allison to officially sign him to the active roster. The Lions signed Allison off the team’s practice squad roster on Wednesday in advance of the Week 7 trip to Los Angeles to face the Rams.

Allison was elevated from the practice squad in the Week 6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He played 13 snaps on offense but did not see a target. It was his first action since signing with the Lions as a free agent prior to the 2020 season. Allison opted out of the 2020 campaign and has bounced between the practice squad and a gameday inactive on the active roster for the first six weeks of 2021.

The Lions had an open spot on the roster after placing CB Corey Ballentine on IR late last week.
