Lipscomb baseball's Jeff Forehand named ASUN coach of the year; Caleb Ketchup is top defensive player

Lipscomb baseball coach Jeff Forehand was named the Atlantic Sun coach of the year Tuesday and the Bisons' Caleb Ketchup was the defensive player of the year.

Forehand, in his 16th season, earned the award for the first time in his career and became the first coach in Lipscomb program history to earn the honor.

He led the Bisons (34-20 overall, 20-10 ASUN) to the West Division championship, their first since 2008. Forehand also reached his milestone 600th career victory this season with a 12-4 win over Akron.

Forehand began his coaching career at Goodpasture then spent six seasons at Trevecca.
