'Liquid French toast' and 20 other beers at Eastern CT craft breweries this weekend

We looked over a slew of tap lists from New London and Windham counties, and we've found what local breweries are serving up this weekend. This weekend's highlights include Epicure Brewing's 6.2% Pilsner "Billy's Brew," Black Pond Brews' 5.1% Passionfruit Gose "Captain Misbehavior," Tox Brewing Company's 6.5% American Amber "Copperhead," and Bear Hands Brewing Company's 6.3% Ale and Lager Hybrid "Assumed Intelligence."

Bear Hands Brewing Company

Arduinna’s Tears: 5.4% Belgian Blonde Ale.

"This Belgian Blonde Ale is inspired by the huntress Arduinna, goddess of the Ardennes Forest. This light bodied ale has low hop bitterness and a very pleasant fruity-ester character derived from the specialty Belgian yeast."

Assumed Intelligence: 6.3% Ale and Lager Hybrid.

"This unique lagered ale is fermented at cool temperatures to create a hybrid between an ale and a lager. Brown to caramel in color with a clean and crisp overall drinkability. The rich malts and fruity esters contribute to its nutty finish."

Ermegerd: 8% Peanut Butter Cup Stout.

"This peanut butter cup stout is loaded down with multiple additions of peanut butter that is very present up front, and just a touch of cacao to add the underlying chocolate flavor on the back end. Ermagerd is all I can say!"

Bear Hands Brewing is located at 75 Main St., Suite 1, in Putnam.

Black Pond Brews

Captain Misbehavior: 5.1% Passionfruit Gose.

"Tart, tropical fruit, hint of salt."

Mr. Kitty: 5% New England IPA.

"Our flagship stout named after our world famous brewery cat, currently enjoying semi-retirement at home."

Recreational Coffee: 7.2% Golden Coffee Stout.

"Made with coffee from Chubby Dog Coffee Co. of Putnam."

Black Pond Brews is located at 21 Furnace St. in Danielson.

Epicure Brewing

Billy's Brew: 6.2% Pilsner.

"A light, crisp and refreshing beer brewed in collaboration with the veteran riders of the American Infidels VMC of Connecticut. This was brewed on Veterans Day as a tribute to all that have sacrificed for our freedoms."

Bogger Rodenzok: 5.2% Sour Cranberry Ale.

"Bogger is a garnet red color cranberry sour ale. Your first sip will be the intense sour taste followed with a rich cranberry tartness. RodenZok is an Eastern Connecticut based sour recipe developed by brewing legend Paul “Zok” Zocco."

Epicure Brewing is located at 40 Franklin St. in Norwich.

Fox Farm Brewery

Gather: 5.5% German Pilsner.

"Our unfiltered, carefully-hopped German-style Keller Pils. Something to share when the work is done."

Layers: 6.5% American IPA.

"Quickly becoming a house favorite, featuring the very beautiful hop, Strata."

Outer Light Brewing Company

Breakfast at Tiffany’s: 6% : Baltic Porter with Backstrap Molasses & Tahitian Vanilla.

"Just like a liquid French Toast! Notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar."

Pilsner Bear: 5.3%: Pilsner.

"Light-bodied and crisp with a hint of citrus and a floral aroma."

SUBduction: 6.1% American IPA.

"Brewed with Citra, Ekuanot and El Dorado hops. Citrusy IPA with notes of oranges and apricots."

These Guys Brewing Company

White Anniversary Ale: 4.7% Wheat Beer - Witbier / Blanche.

"Brewed with coriander and orange rind."

Gen Pop: 8% American IPA.

"Unfiltered yellow IPA. Light taste with a hint of bread notes, surrounded by the grassy fruit profile from Mosaic hops. Finishes with a bitter bite."

Tox Brewing Company

Copperhead: 6.5% American Amber.

"We use a complex bed of flavorful malts and a hint of biscuit and black patent malts to achieve the traditional coloring and flavor characteristics. Dry and clean with some caramel and light roast flavors with a swift and spicy bite."

Ink “Red Stuff”: 6.5% Fruited Sour.

"Ink is the fully pulped, slushy cousin of Lily of the Valley. Red Stuff features a selection of red fruit including raspberry, cranberry, strawberry, pomegranate and cherry. Combined with vanilla and lactose this beer gives you a blast of stone fruit and berry yogurt goodness. *Contains Lactose"

Deadly Nightshade: 6.3% Coffee Milk Stout.

" American Milk Stout aged on our house roasted single origin coffee. This batch features a Guatemalan coffee called Guatemala Acatenango San Diego Buena Vista. Holy chocolate covered espresso beans! This coffee also exudes notes of brown sugar, Nutella, cocoa powder, a touch of fruit, vanilla, and cinnamon. *Contains Lactose"

Willimantic Brewing Company

Phunkadelic Berry Sour: 3.4% Mixed Berry Sour.

"Brewed as a second runnings from our Willi Whammer this Blueberry, Cranberry, Pomegranate Sour is low in calories & alcohol. Crush it!"

Autobahn Mail Alt: 5.5% German Style Amber.

"Popular Alt style bier w/Crystal & English Pale malts providing the reddish hues & malty sweetness. Tettnang hops add a note of spiciness."

Willifest: 5.4% Vienna Lager.

"A beautiful balance of lightly toasted Vienna malts and Hallertau Mittelfruh hops. The hills are alive w/the astounding flavor!"
