Li's Seafood Boil opens on Lima Mall property

Jun. 10—LIMA — Li's Seafood Boil, in the former Ruby Tuesday's location at 2404 Elida Road is now open for business.

Zan Feng and his wife Li are leasing the building from the Lima Mall.

They already operate Oki Bento Box inside the mall and saw Ruby Tuesday's demise as an opportunity for them.

The new restaurant has been open nearly a week and they've seen a steady stream of customers check it out.

The building itself has undergone improvements with the mall owners investing in a new roof for the building and a new water heater.

Inside, Feng redid the floor and installed marble top tables.

Feng came to the Lima community in 1993 from China.

"I've been here (at the Lima Mall) since 1999, long enough to stay interested in Lima," Feng said.

He loves being able to have a sit-down restaurant and be able to serve his customers.

"It's not too bad. That's why I take over and try helping people enjoy good food," Feng said.

The restaurant features whole lobsters, lobster tails, clams, black and green mussels, blue crab, king crab, snow crab, crawfish and shrimp.

"Mostly everything we get is very fresh," Feng said.

You can also get appetizers like Crab Rangoon, onion rings, cheese sticks, cajun fries, fried catfish, chicken nuggets and chicken wings.

As for baskets, there's fried shrimp, catfish, oyster, calamari and chicken tenders.

Oysters are also available — either raw or steamed.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
