Update for Week of Jan. 17
Ranger ISD: The district announced Tuesday afternoon that schools will be closed the rest of the week due to a high number of COVID-19 cases as well as strep and the "stomach flu." Classes had resumed Monday after two days of closure the previous week.
When classes return next Monday, the school day will be extended 10 minutes daily to make up for the lost instructional minutes instead of having to taking time during spring break or days at the end of the year.
Update started for Week of Jan. 10
The spike in COVID-19 cases after the Christmas break is prompting several Abilene-area school districts to cancel classes this week. In general, districts are using the down town to allow students and staff to recuperate and do deep cleaning of facilities.
Brookesmith ISD: Thursday and Friday classes canceled. Students return Tuesday.
Cisco ISD: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday, with holidays on Friday and Monday. Students return Tuesday.
Colorado City: Closed Thursday and Friday, with Monday a holiday. Students return Tuesday.
Hermleigh ISD: Closed Thursday and Friday. Classes resume Monday.
Ranger ISD: Wednesday and Thursday classes canceled. Friday is a holiday, so students return Monday.
Santa Anna ISD: Closed Wednesday through Friday, and Monday is a holiday. Students return Tuesday.
Snyder ISD: Closed Thursday and Friday, and Monday is a holiday. Students return Tuesday.
