Browns lose defensive power ahead of Bears game

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Cleveland Browns are in the hunt for a playoff spot despite losing major players to season-ending injuries.

The Browns have lost 5 players just this week.

North Olmsted High School principal on leave amid reported ‘allegations’

Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they have placed S Grant Delpit (groin) on injured reserve.

Delpit, who has started all 13 games, is leading the Browns this season with 77 tackles.

FOX 8 Sports John Sabol also reported that DT Maurice Hurst and DT Ogbo Okoronwo were injured this week.

The team announced Tuesday afternoon that OT Jedrick Wills, who had been hurt earlier in the season, had a successful surgery and said he would not be back this season.

The OT underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday at University Hospitals.

“He will miss the remainder of the 2023 season and a full recovery is expected for the start of the 2024 season,” FOX 8 Sports anchor PJ Ziegler wrote.

The team announced Monday that OT Dewand Jones would be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

He’s the latest in a slew of players who’ve had their season cut short.

The Browns signed S Duron Harmon to the active roster from the practice squad.

Harmon (6-0, 205) is in his 11th NFL season and won 3 Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.

Cleveland has seen some recent wins with the addition of veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who was signed to the team’s practice squad in November.

He was named the starting quarterback for the rest of the Browns’ season on Sunday, after the team’s win against Jacksonville.

The Browns host the Chicago Bears on Sunday at 1 p.m.
