List of Pulse remembrance events marking 7 years since the attack

Monday marks seven years since a gunman entered Pulse Nightclub south of downtown Orlando and killed 49 people and injured dozens more.

This year, a series of events are scheduled throughout the month of June to commemorate the lives lost and impacted by the massacre.

Pulse Remembrance Day events started off with a 4.9-kilometer “CommUNITY Rainbow Run” and continues Saturday with activities such as a youth Pride prom at the Orlando Museum of Art on Saturday, and a “Drag Story Time at the Mexican Consulate in Orlando hosted by Momma Ashley Rose, the drag alter ego of pageant organizer Jason DeShazo.

The main Pulse remembrance ceremony is Monday at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Drag Story Time – 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 at the Mexican Consulate hosted by Momma Ashley Rose. See events at www.rosedynasty.org

The Orange County Regional History Center will host the Pulse memorial crosses from Saturday, June 10, through Monday, June 12. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Monday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission to the museum will be free during this time. For more information, visit www.thehistorycenter.org

2023 Zebra Youth Pride Prom: Old Hollywood – 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at the Orlando Museum of Art. The prom is open to LGBTQ+ youth, ages 14 to 20 and the theme is “Old Hollywood, The Golden Age.” Youth under age 18 are required to submit a parental consent form, which will be sent upon registration. Dru Project Annual Scholarship Award Event – 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, at the Hammered Lamb. A drag brunch to announce this year’s scholarship award recipients and raise funds to support next year’s awards and the Gay Straight Alliance club grant program. Momma and Friends Pride – 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11 at Art/ifact Studio in Lakeland. Hosted by Momma Ashley Rose with special guests Miss Rose Dynasty 2023 Juno Vibranz, Mistah Aphrodite, Jessa Belle Light and Keirra Ka’oir Summers. Tickets are on sale at www.rosedynasty.org/brunch

Seven-Year Pulse Remembrance Ceremony – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 12, in Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremony can also be viewed live on the onePULSE Foundation Facebook page. To reserve a free seat, visit, www.drphillipscenter.org.
