Listed in Palm Beach: ‘I feel like I wake up in a resort every day,’ says condo owner

With a second home in The Hamptons on New York’s Long Island, Pamela Morgan and husband Michael Trokel had been Palm Beach weekend visitors for many years.

After they sold their apartment in Manhattan in 2021, they began looking for a vacation home in Palm Beach.

“That’s when we found our apartment at Beach Point,” says Pamela Morgan, a cookbook author who also describes herself as an Instagram lifestyle expert. Trokel, meanwhile, is a businessman who once owned a New Jersey office-furniture distribution company.

Capturing vistas of the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway, the couple’s two-bedroom condominium on the South End was move-in ready when they first toured it, Morgan recalls — and that made the transition to Palm Beach easy.

“We didn’t have to do anything to it. We just added some furniture, because we even bought the furniture that was there,” Morgan says. “It was completely renovated. It was like moving into a hotel.”

The other attraction?

“The view is extraordinary,” she says. “We love it.”

Even so, the couple’s needs have changed over the past two years: “Now we want a little more room and are looking for something with a third bedroom,” Morgan said.

In addition to the two bedrooms, the condo — No. 405 N at 2660 S. Ocean Blvd. — has two-and-a-half-bathrooms. With 2,300 square feet of living space, inside and out, the apartment is offered for sale through broker Hilary Musser of Hilary Musser Real Estate LLC. The price is $3.55 million, which includes garage parking for one car and open-air parking for another.

The front door opens into a foyer, with foot traffic flowing from there to the south, past the dining room and island-style kitchen to the living room. These main areas are flanked by the bedroom suites, with all main rooms opening to the waterview balcony. The laundry room and powder room are off of the foyer.

On the fourth floor of Beach Point’s north building, the condo directly faces south to the pool area, which has a whirlpool spa. “I wake up in the morning, open the shades and see the ocean,” Morgan says. “And at night, I can see sunsets over the Intracoastal from our balcony.”

A modern-style display-and-storage unit anchors one end of the kitchen’s work island, which has a cooktop.

The dining area features banquette seating, and the kitchen is fitted with high-end appliances and glossy white contemporary cabinetry that are complemented by marble counters and backsplashes. The work island, which accommodates pull-up seating, features a floor-to-ceiling display cabinet facing the living room.

“I love that we have an open kitchen, with everything within reach. It’s a bright, happy and gives us an easy way to entertain,” Morgan says.

Floors throughout are covered in porcelain tiles.

The main bedroom suite features custom built-in cabinetry, and the dressing room has custom-fitted wall closets and a makeup vanity with a sink. There’s another sink in the main bathroom, which also has a soaking tub and shower.

The bed in the main bedroom is positioned to capture the ocean view. The apartment also has views of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Developed in 1979, Beach Point stands just north of the bridge to Lake Worth Beach and comprises a trio of seven-floor towers with a total of 105 units. On-site recreation facilities include a fitness center, a card room and a tennis court.

“It’s a wonderful building with great management,” she says. “And it’s easy to meet people. I hope I can find (a comparable) apartment.”

The building also is pet-friendly and has private access to the shore.

“The beach is right there. I feel like I wake up in a resort every day,” Morgan says. “I’ll miss the views and the light coming into our apartment all day long.”
