You Have to Listen to These 7 Tea-Spilling Drag Queen Podcasts
Okay, bad news first. We’re (most likely) not getting another season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race until 2020. But the good news is that drag queens around the world give us quality content every damn day. If you aren’t already listening to drag podcasts, you should be. It’s basically like having queens just hanging out with you in your head. Anyway, here are the best ones to listen to all year long...even when we’re in a RPDR drought.
1. What’s the Tee
If you don’t love Ru Paul’s podcast, how the hell are you gonna love all the other drag podcasts? Can I get an amen? On What’s the Tee, Mama Ru and Michelle Visage talk about whatever they feel like.
2. Sibling Rivalry
Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change are two of the most hilarious stars to ever bless the Ru Paul’s Drag Race Werk Room, so obviously, their podcast is a comedy gold mine. They basically just chat about whatever’s on their minds, like veganism or taboos. The best part? Some of the episodes are available as full-on videos.
3. Race Chaser With Alaska and Willam
If you’re a true RPDR fan, you know that even when the season’s over...it’s never really over. You can totally rewatch your favorite lip syncs years later. It’s just a thing. Anyway, that’s why it makes perfect sense that Alaska and Willam have a podcast where they discuss every single episode ever (like, from the beginning).
4. Grizzly Kiki
Self-described as a “pop culture and drag-centric podcast,” Grizzly Kiki tackles everything from the model who pretended to be trans to interviews with Miss Vanjie. We stan a well-rounded series.
5. Drag Her! A Ru Paul’s Drag Race Podcast
Untucked is, and always will be, messy as hell. But WHEW, the beginning episodes were truly something else. It is the show that has given us some of the greatest reaction memes of our generation. Drag Her!, from Nicole Byer (Girl Code and Nailed It!) and Mano Agapion, takes a look back at the first season of All Stars and Untucked.
6. Thanks for Coming!
Thanks for Coming! is a weekly roundtable discussion that is kind of just about whatever the three hosts (Seth, Jamal, and Stony) feel like talking about that week. For example, they have a thing called Drunk Herstory, where they drink and talk about queer history.
7. Alright Mary
There’s really no better way to describe Alright Mary than the way the podcast describes itself. “We’re two parts Drag Race viewing party, one part queer studies lecture, and a healthy dose of obscure pop culture references, all wrapped in a nuanced layer of dad jokes and pun-offs and served weekly with a side of piping-hot tea.” It’s the extremely specific hour of entertainment you didn’t know you needed every week.
