This week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are promoting one of their favorite charitable causes. The pair are participating in Mental Health Awareness week, the UK’s annual observance to support mental health initiatives, hosted each year by the Mental Health Foundation. Today, the royal couple spoke alongside British celebrities in the Mental Health Minute, a national radio broadcast.

The 60-second radio segment was broadcast across 500 radio stations in the UK to an audience of 20 million. It supported Shout 85258, the 24/7 text message helpline developed by the Duke and Duchess's Royal Foundation. William and Kate were joined in the audio clip by celebrities David Beckham, Dame Shirley Bassey, Jamie Oliver, Anne Marie, Jesse Lingard, Charles Dance, and Joanna Lumley. The group recited a message about mental health written by spoken word poet and advocate Hussain Manawer.

The message urged UK citizens to help one another and continue conversations about mental wellbeing, even as Mental Health Awareness week is coming to a close. The message alternates between speakers, with each celebrity finishing one another's sentences.

Prince William said, "It would be great to keep talking," as singer Anne Maire added, "To a loved one, friend or colleague—let's keep making the conversation accessible."

The Duchess then noted, "Because our mental health binds every single one of us together."

Beckham also encouraged citizens in "Taking time to reflect through the most challenging of years."

This radio segment finishes out the Duke and Duchess's slew of activities for Mental Health Awareness week. Yesterday, the pair visited three organizations in Wolverhampton, all of which support mental wellbeing in various ways. The royals engaged with young people aided by the groups and got to have some fun, playing ping pong and interacting with support animals.
